Advice About Paralegals

Paralegals have gained a permanent place in the law firm. The history of the law firm’s usage of paralegals over the past twenty-five years has shown successes and failures. Success depends on several key factors:

selecting qualified individuals,
integrating the paralegal into substantive legal work,
developing associate/paralegal working models,
encouraging effective paralegal/client relationships, and
properly setting the fees for the paralegal’s services.

For over 20 years Arthur G. Greene has written, lectured and advised law firms and other law related associations on topics relating to paralegals. Arthur is nationally recognized as an expert on all aspects of law firm management. In 1996 he was Editor of and Contributing Author to Leveraging With Legal Assistants: How to Maximize Team Performance, Improve Quality, and Boost Your Bottom Line, which focused on the increasing role of paralegals in the law firm. In addition, Arthur Greene recently co-authored Paralegals, Profitability and the Future of Your Law Practice. For more information, See Publications page.

An initial consultation will include identifying the issues and outlining the scope of services that will best meet your needs. Services will likely involve interviews with lawyers as well as paralegals in order to understand how paralegals are used within your firm, an analysis of your firm’s financial reports to determine paralegal usage and profitability, and a Report providing specific recommendations.

Arthur is also available for presentations:

To lawyers on How to Maximize Your Success through the Use of Paralegals
To paralegals on How to Maximize Your Contribution to Achieving the Firm’s Goals.

Please contact us if your firm is not experiencing the success it could be through the utilization of paralegals, or if your firm is contemplating hiring paralegals and desires to maximize your success at an early stage.
